    Fishing in Janurary

    Light Tackle Action
    Around Port Canaveral, mangrove snapper continue to aggressively feed on live shrimp around the jetties. In addition, large jacks have been attacking top water lures and scented jerk baits throughout the port. (Read more)
    Space Coast Fishing
    In the past week, mangrove snapper have not been able to resist live shrimp when fished inside Port Canaveral. During an outgoing tide, a free lined shrimp has worked very well around the jetties, docks and other structure. (Read more)
    Sunrise Fishing Port Canaveral, Banana River
    In the past week, the black drum bite has been hot around the spoil islands in the Banana River near the "No Motor Zone". Around Port Canaveral, flounder have continued to bite a wide variety of artificial and fresh dead baits along sandy bottoms throughout the port. (Read more)
    Summertime Door Mats
    Inside Port Canaveral, flounder measuring up to twenty inches have been caught on sandy bottoms near pilings, docks, and other structure on both live and artificial bait. Snook fishing at night has also been good near the North jetty at Port Canaveral. (Read more)

    Indian River Trout
    Top water lures such as MirrOLure's (16mr808) Mirromullet with a black back and orange belly have worked well from as early as one hour before sun up to 9:30 am, and again during the last few hours of the day. Also, live bait fish such as mullet or a pinfish under a cork has worked well later in the day until around noon in about four to six feet of water. (Read more)
    Red Hot Fishing
    In the last few days of snook season, my clients have had many opportunities to catch snook in and around Port Canaveral. Many of these fish have measured 24 to 38 inches in length. When fishing the flats, large "gator" trout can not resist a live pigfish, pinfish, or mullet when fished under a popping cork. Many of these large trout have been caught in three to four feet of water during low light conditions. (Read more)
    Snook At the Port
    Around Port Canaveral, snook have been caught on a variety of live and artificial baits near the jetties, docks and the S.R. 401 bridge located at the west end of the port. Live mullet, pinfish, and shrimp have worked well when free lined near these structures at night. (Read more)

    Spring Time reds
    Bright sunny days, and warm temperatures have helped redfish and black drum return to the flats. In the Indian River, north of Titusville, live shrimp have worked well when sight casting to smaller schools of reds. (Read more)

    kingfish are off the chain at pelican reef. They have arrived. (Read more)
    Fishing around Port Canaveral
    Around Port Canaveral, sheepshead have been in abundance around the jetties as well as other structure. Live shrimp have been the ticket when it comes to bringing these tasty fish to the boat. (Read more)
